1,2,3-Thiadiazole-4-carbaldehyde
1,2,3-Thiadiazole-4-carbaldehyde 1 is a crystalline solid ( mp 87°C) which is thermally stable to >150°C and slighly light sensitive. 1 has been coupled as a lipophilic moiety to cephalosporin antibacterials(1). The imine derivatives of 1 rearrange to 1,2,3-triazole derivatives on heating (2). Aldehyde 1 has been converted to 4,4-diformyltetrathiafulvalene (3) and other extended TTFs (4).
